Sellwood Tee

Before it was teacups and tricycles, Sellwood was a blue-collar boomtown — a sawmill suburb with mud streets, saloons, and just enough ambition to secede from Portland in 1882 (only to come crawling back in 1893). Named after Reverend John Sellwood, who sold the land to fund a church, the neighborhood quickly filled with loggers, grifters, and dreamers. Oh, and a full-on amusement park (shoutout to Oaks Park, 1905–still kicking).
Today, it’s vintage shops in old drugstores, yoga in old churches, and toddlers munching organic puffs in front of houses that used to rent for $60 a month. But scratch the quaint surface, and you’ll still find a little grit — a ghost of the mill, a whisper of old Portland, a backyard chicken that might be plotting something.
Wear it if you love rust, roses, and the smell of antique wood.
