Before the condos, before the brunch lines, there was La Luna — a cavernous old warehouse on SE 9th that pulsed like a broken heart monitor in the '90s. Once a church, then a bag factory, then a mosh pit with a roof, La Luna lit up the Northwest music scene with raw electricity and sticky floors.

Nirvana, Elliott Smith, Sleater-Kinney, Everclear, Sublime, The Dandy Warhols, Cherry Poppin' Daddies screaming into the void — if your ears rang in Portland in the '90s, it was probably here. No AC, no rules, maybe no plumbing. Just beer-soaked boots, secondhand Doc Martens, and the kind of nights that turned into stories you'd half-remember decades later.

La Luna is gone but the myth remains.

Wear it if you like it loud and still smell faintly of cigarettes and eyeliner.
